Here is a peek at some of the beautiful collections created by the talented Icelandic, Unnur Fridriksdottir. She launched Unnurwear in 2006, with a desire to design a range of high quality handbags, accessories and clothing for fashion forward women all over the world. Her pieces are almost like artwork, fashion-forward and innovative yet timeless in their appeal.
In a relatively short time, Unnur has won innovation awards for her entrepreneurial visions and her designs. In the summer of 2007 Unnur’s handbags were displayed in Iceland’s largest design exhibition to date, Magma/Kvika, at Kjarvalsstadir Art Museum in Reykjavik. Unnur’s specialty is using sea-leather in her handbags...yes this means fish! The fish being used in the current collections is farm-grown Icelandic Salmon and African Perch.
