Last week, I wrote about some of the drawbacks to living in a small Southern town. The upside to my town, however, is its proximity to Savannah and the South Carolina lowcountry. The lowcountry has a flavor and style unto itself (think Pawley's Island rope hammocks dressed with your grandmother's monogrammed linens, pimiento cheese served in a china teacup, and of course, oyster roasts).
