Hudson Furniture

The other day, I came across Hudson Furniture when I was flipping through this month's Elle Decor magazine. I couldn't believe my eyes! Beyond their dramatic aesthetic appeal, the product line is built with purpose and peace of mind. I was delighted to learn that they respect the natural forms of trees and inherent grain of wood with well defined organic lines and geometric forms using traditional joinery techniques and hand rubbed oil finishes.

"All Hudson furniture is available in custom dimensions, custom finishes and a variety of wood species such as Claro Walnut, Black Walnut, Myrtle, Jasmine, Acacia, Satinwood and Ebonized Pine. None of the woods we use are harvested from old growth forests. Their wood slabs are domestically sourced from either salvaged trees or wind/storm damaged trees. The trees have an average life span of 250-300 years.

Hudson Furniture Inc. is also New York's only repository for legally harvested petrified wood. For Hudson Furniture Inc. it was second nature to explore petrified wood as an extension of its already existing collection of organic contemporary designs. Petrified wood, having the visual characteristics of wood but the feel of stone, represents a contemporary fusion of the two original materials into a new compelling organic interior accessory." Now that's beauty and innovation! Beyond the furniture, I find their chandelier collection to be unique and incredible! It's official, think I'm in love.
