It was roughly about 6 years ago, that I was looking through Architectural Digest, and came across the talented Interior Designer, Victoria Hagan. I must say, her sense of style and unique flair instantly clicked with me. She seems to practice the perfect balance of using both interesting details and restraint. You can appreciate each piece in the room, without it being too minimalist and cold. I have also noticed that whether she works with a colorful or neutral palette, she thinks in layers. Different heights, textures, and contrasting elements offer greater appreciation and often, usefulness.
Take the first image, for example, the neutral backdrop works as the perfect canvas for the artwork, machinery (vintage lawn mover?) and grass. To me, it's almost humorous! Yet it offers a fresh take on what could have been a very bland space. Even the palette, in image 07, is so perfect. I'm typically not a blue person, but the emotion, serenity, and combination of warm and cool colors, has me wanting that exact palette somewhere. I don't think that I could ever tire of her interiors.
I would love to know your thoughts on her work!
