A House or a Home?

What makes a house a home? Such a personal thing, a topic that arises in thousands of articles, t.v shows and books...Is it the neatly arranged and dutifully selected objects, so perfectly balanced that a millimeter of shift would ruin the entire look? Or is it the piles of well—loved books, photos of friends and family, treasures collected over the years, and fresh flowers...is it the smell of freshly baked cookies or the strewn love notes... it could be the comfort of an abundance of plush pillows, a cozy blanket, a warm fireplace and pet.

For some people, it's opening a closet and seeing beautifully lined up boxes, all neatly stacked and labeled. Perhaps it's the laughter and memories that trail throughout the house that somehow manages to reach every corner...For me, personally, it's a number of factors— it's a feeling of comfort and ease...beautifully scented candles, memorable photos of places visited, cozy blankets, objects with significance and memories, magazines and books, slippers within reach, my dog and of course, loved ones.
