DH and I am starting to look around for an investment property (locally) and we've been interested in two local areas (rural) to us, Kyneton and Daylesford. We're not sure if we will renovate something, or build from scratch - just seeing what's around atm.

Daylesford is just over an hour from Melbourne CBD, and is considered a the creme de la creme of the "spa country", ie. many large spa resorts are located here.

There's also plenty of trendy cafe's, shops and sightseeing.
The housing is usually quite heritage and cottage style, like this one!

It's got a pretty fab living room!

Very cottagey feel with those ceilings!

Ok, the bedrooms are somewhat small, but all white walls with views like that through the windows, who cares!

And a pretty great back yard, decking, overlooking the lake!

And here is the lovely Lake Daylesford
(Wombat Hill in the background)!
*sigh*

AND here's what the Agent had to say!

Lakeleigh
Alluring relaxed atmosphere wonderfully positioned on the foreshore with unquestionable quality, detailing and style. Old established gardens with feature dry stone walls surround Lakeleigh. Large flagstone paved entertainment area combined with timber deck and views over the Lake to Wombat Hill. Stunning glass conservatory dining room, lounge/sitting with gas fire set in a sandstone fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 2 with balconies, 2 bathrooms, stylish interiors with modern contemporary quality finishes. Lakeleigh offers direct private access to Lake Daylesford and is a short stroll to all the wonderful restaurants.
This is a unique property and one of the Spa country's best addresses.

WOW
