Take time to enjoy the little things...delicious cupcakes, warm coffee in those pretty teacups that are packed away, ice cream out of a glass, those untouched candles you've been dusting, breakfast in bed or outside in the fresh air, watch a chick flick while getting ready in the morning...anything that makes life a little sweeter.
On a side note, I am saddened to know that the iconic Rachel Ashwell, creator of Shabby Chic and the well-known Shabby Chis style, is going through troubles with her company and doing anything she can to avoid bankruptcy. I have followed this talented lady since the 90's, when I landed my first retail job at a pretty boutique store and sold many of her products. I can remember how excited I was to visit her flagship store in Malibu, where Shabby Chic first born, as well as the New York location in SoHo. When she began Shabby Chic in the 80's, people seemed to instantly love her soft and refreshing flair and style, as well as her talent for finding beautiful, vintage pieces. Perhaps closing a few locations and leaving the main stores is the best route for her to go, for if she closed her doors permanently, I know there would be a lot of very very dis hearted people. I know I would be one of them.
The photos shown above are some of the large range beautiful products sold on her site. (excluding the teacup) To go to her site, click here/or to visit her blog, click here. Her blog expresses her feelings, info. about her company, new products and more.
