As winter is fast approaching, out come the blankets, pillows and slippers! Nothing says winter to me more than rich and luxurious velvets, warm colors, and cozy, layered textures. I find that decor can offer the same level of comfort and warmth, and that these great spaces are the epitome of such...

The amazing, time worn textures, wood tones and fabrics look so inviting...these are a few photos I have been saving in my inspirational file, but wanted to share with you today, as it is particularly cold and dreary out. Isn't that kitchen incredible? I adore ladders in homes, whether in a library, kitchen or closet. There's something grand, yet friendly about the room. I have a feeling that many lively family dinners take place here...
Also, thank you so much for all of the lovely comments on my previous giveaway post! Reading them brought tears to my eyes, not only for your thoughtful words of kindness, but for the words of difficulty and hope. I wish that I could send a copy of The Sartorialist to each person that left a comment. If you haven't had a chance to enter yet, no problem! I won't be drawing the winner until December 1st. Even if you already own a copy of the book, perhaps a good friend or sister might like to receive it for Christmas.
Have a wonderful Wednesday*
